Tianrun Dabancheng Wind Power Plant

2014-12-18

Dabancheng Wind Power Plant is the first large-scale wind power plant in China and also the largest wind power plant in Asia. In the vast wilderness, hundreds of white wind turbines stand facing the wind on both sides of the Tuwu Expressway, with a powerful lineup and an extremely spectacular sight. Some people call it "Windmill Field" or "Windmill Forest".

The windmill in Dabancheng has not only become an important component of Xinjiang's electric energy, but also a scenic spot attracting more and more tourists. It has also become a miracle and highlight on the Gobi Desert in Xinjiang, and a landmark architectural complex in Xinjiang. The Dabancheng Wind Power Plant has been listed as one of the "New Ten Scenic Spots of Urumqi".

The wind power plant in Dabancheng is currently the largest in Asia and the second largest in the world, second only to wind power plants in the Netherlands, and most wind turbines are imported from the Netherlands. At present, the total installed capacity of wind energy in Xinjiang has exceeded 100000 kilowatts, accounting for more than one-third of the country. Wind power generation, known as "green energy", has shown broad prospects in optimizing resource allocation, improving energy structure, and reducing urban pollution in Xinjiang's power industry.
